Greece: The Finance Minister of Greece Yanis Varoufakis told media persons here on Monday told re-negosiating Greece’s hugh debt obligations remains high on list of objectives. He said his priority is the well-being of all Europeans and ruled out accepting more bailout cash.
His comments follows remarks on Saturday by new Greek PM Alexis Tsipras, who had said that he was confident that Greece could close a deal with creditors. Greece’s leftist anti-austerity Syriza party had won last Sunday’s election with a pledge to write off half the debt.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel, however, has ruled out debt cancellation, saying creditors had already made concession.
