Kolkata: CPI(M) leader Debesh Das will likely be the party’s candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha by polls in the bordering constituency of Bangaon in West Bengal. Das who had previously contested the in Lok Sabha elections in 2014, lost to Trinamool’s Kapil Krishna Thakur who passed away in October last year.
Trinamool Congress which is reeling under Party feuds over the candidature of the late MP’s widow Mamatabala Thakur and son of Mamata’s Cabinet minister Manjul Krishna Thakur has not yet decided its candidate.
Moreover there are rumors that the BJP may take advantage of the rising cracks within the Trinamool and field in the Minister’s son as its candidate.
The CPI(M) leadership at present holding discussion over his candidature from the constituency and may declare the name of its candidate by Thursday afternoon.
