Death toll in India rises to 77 due to earthquake


New Delhi: The death toll in India due to the Earthquake in Nepal’s Pokhra region has rose to 77. Among the deaths, 47 were killed in Bihar, eight in Uttar Pradesh and three in West Bengal. The Governement has announced a compensation of Rs 2 Lakh to the family of the people killed in India due to the earthquake.

From Saturday Night, many Nepalese people who lost all their belongings due to the earthquake had to spent t0he entire night roofless in parks, footpaths amidst bitter cold. West Bengal Chief minister Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to visit the quake hit North Bengal on Sunday to take stock of the situation.
