Kolkata: The 43rd International Book Fair will start on January 30 2019 and end on February 10. As a special guest, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will inaugurate the book fair.
As a joint initiative by the Publishers and Book Sellers’ Guild and West Bengal government, the book fair will be held at Central Park area. It was announced through a press conference which was attended by special guest Guetamala’s Ambassador Zionbanni Kastiyo.
This year Britain, America, Russia, Japan, China and Bangladesh are participating. This year, Iran will be present specially. Along with it, several Pakistani publications will also be present.
The book fair will also witness the presence of Delhi, Hariyana, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Maharashtra and other states. 2019 will be Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary. Hence, this year Gandhiji will be remembered specially.
The fair will remain open from 12 noon to 8 pm everyday.
