Cyclonic Storm Phethai To Cause Heavy Rain In South Bengal On Monday


Kolkata: The weather office Kolkata has predicted that the City Of Joy and South Bengal will get rain on Monday. Heavy to heavy rainfall is expected in South Bengal and the sea level will be high.

The tropical cyclone phethai has already upshoted in several part of South Bengal. Under the influence of the cyclonic storm, sky remaining cloudy for past few days. Parts of Howrah, Kolkata and North 24 Pargana has witnessed brief rainfall. But as per the prediction of Alipore weather office rainfall will continue on Monday. two to three district will witness heavy rainfall so yellow alert has been issued in those districts.

The fishermen have been alerted to avoid the sea. This weather condition has been created due to the deep depression over South Bay of Bengal. According to the weather office, direction of the storm will reduce its potential before entering the landside but it can take a larger shape with favorable environmental cooperation.

The weather experts are saying that, under the influence of cyclonic storm, wind will blow in 80 to 90 kilometer per hour over South-West and West-central Bay of Bengal. But the speed will may cross to 100 kilometer per hour. The prevailing system over Southwest and West-central may turn severe in coastal gangetic part of West Bengal.

According to the weather office information, with the changing position over Bay of Bengal, there will be cyclonic storm in the next 24 hours. The coastal gangetic part will experience the most in the afternoon time.

The lowest temperature will be at 19 degree in the middle of December. The highest will be at 26 degree. On Sunday the maximum temperature was at 26.1 degree which one degree lesser than the normal. The lowest temperature is 19.4 degree which is higher than four degree. Shallow to moderate fog conditions at some places will be observed during early morning hours.
