Kolkata: Cyclone formed in the Bay of Bengal resulted in heavy rains in the city. On Friday afternoon the thunderstorm and heavy rain started in some parts of the city. Several areas adjoining Kolkata received. It was around 3pm in the afternoon heavy rain started. As a result the city turned dark in the afternoon.
According to the Met office, a cyclonic storm has been formed on the south-west Bay of Bengal. There is also a trough-line in the east-west.
Due to this there is possibility of sporadic rain in the next 48 hours in the area like north 24 Parganas, south 24 Parganas, Nadia, Howrah, Hooghly, East and West Midnapore, including Kolkata. Rainfall will continue in the state due to cyclonic wind and Monsoon.
