Kolkata: Be Aware ! The tropical cyclone FANI presently prevailing 100 km away from eastern metropolis Kolkata on late Friday night. The cyclonic FANI is expectedly hit Bengal within few hours in the coastal area of Bengal.
The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) Kolkata said at around 12 am that the cyclonic storm presently situated 100 km away from metro city Kolkata. Most of the places in Kolkata witnessing heavy rainfall with gusty winds. The adverse weather condition has deserted the roads. Maximum parts of Central Kolkata and South Kolkata witnessing rain accompanied by winds.
The continuous rain caused waterlogging and many offices announced early leave due to high alert in Kolkata. All the communication and connectivity got affected due to this.
A temporary Emergency Disaster Response camp set up at 34/A C N Roy Road in Tiljala area where rescuer, ambulance, first aid system, drinking water and dry food are in standby at the camp. The traffic movement in Maa flyover has stopped completely to avoid any unprecedented incident.
