Kolkata: State Congress President Adhir Chowdhury lashed out at the election commission during a press meet on Tuesday. Expressing his stern disbelief in the commission’s neutrality and efficiency, Adhir accused the commission of being an co-conspirator with the ruling party.
He said the commission had initiated no steps to thwart the frequent violation of electoral code of conduct by the ruling Trinamool in the state. Accusing TMC of unleashing a reign of terror, he said that Congress workers across the state were threatened, beaten and terrorized while the law enforcement and election Commission kept a mum.
Criticizing BJP president Rahul Sinha, Adhir questioned Rahul’s authority in dictating the employment of central forces in the polls.
