Cricketers should be involved in technical committee: Kumble

Kolkata: At the technical committee meeting of BCCI in Kolkata, the chairman of the body, Anil Kumble has said that it is important to bring in more cricketers to the committee for smooth running of the affairs. Kumble holds this view as he feels an on field person who is associated with cricket always stays in a better position to carry out the administration.

Substantiating his view, Kumble had put up the situation of the Karnataka Cricket Association where Kumble himself and Javagal Srinath are in charge. Notably, the graph of Karnata in the Indian domestic cricket circuit has gone up by leaps and bounds. At present, along with Kumble, some other former cricketers like Debasish Mohanty and Sandeep Patil are also in the technical committee of the BCCI.

Kumble was also seen laying stress on the domestic tournaments of the BCCI like Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament. Although the working committee of the Board will take these opinions into consideration, Kumble feels these are some of the points which are to be laid stress upon.
