Cricketer injured while fielding, taken to hospital


Kolkata: Even 24 hours have not passed since the tragic death of Ankit Tiwari, the budding cricketer who passed away after field collision with another fellow player, another Bengal player was injured in the head when he was hit by a ball while fielding during a match. CAB’s second division player Rahul Ghosh was injured when a ball hit hin under the ear. He was immediately taken to hospital by the CAB authorities and a CT scan was conducted. The doctors have kept him in ICU. His condition has been stated to be stable and will put under an observation of 72 hours.

CAB Treasurer Bishwarup Dey said, “CT scan has been conducted. If required MRI will also be done. We have not been able to save Ankit. We don’t want such thing to happen in case of Rahul. CAB will be providing Rahul with all help.”
