Update: Buddhadev Bhattacharya on Saturday said in a public rally on Singur that Left Front is ready for coalition with Congress. If Congress agrees then they come forward. Buddha also said that they want to work with allies.
Singur: CPM to march to Singur ahead of the Assembly elections on 16th January headed by former chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharya. The march will end on 22nd January at Salboni.
Both Singur and Salboni have importance in terms of Industry. Singur was Budhadev Bhattacharya’s dream project. After becoming the CM for the second time, he made a deal with Ratan Tata. But later after Mamata Banerjee’s protest, Tata had to leave Singur. On the other side, the former minister had laid the foundation stone for Jindal’s proposed project at West Medinipur’s Salboni. Like Singur, Salboni still didn’t get the Steel factory.
Over there now a cement factory is being established by the present rulers. Hence by bringing up the issue, the former rulers are trying to reach out to the mass for getting votes before the Assembly elections.
