Ashoknagar: The escalating clash between ruling Trinamool and Opposition party CPM has again turned deadly when one TMC worker was killed and five others were seriously injured in a clash between the rival parties on Sunday.
The clashes broke out between the two groups affiliated to Trinamool and CPM respectively at North 24 Pargana’s Ashokenagar area. Both the groups hurled bombs at each other. A Trinamool worker suffered splinter injury and succumbed to death.
Police rushed to the area to contain the situation. A huge force has been deployed in the area. Food Minister Jyotipriya Mullick has accused CPM of fanning terror in the area, which was promptly denied by CPM. Trinamool leaders will be visiting the area tomorrow.
