CPM forms its new State Secretariat

Kolkata:CPM leader Asok Bhattacharya, who led the Left to victory in the Siliguri Municipal Corporation last month, was made a permanent invitee to the powerful state secretariat of the party. The new CPI-M state secretariat was formed on the opening day of the party’s two-day state committee meeting here being attended by its general secretary Sitaram Yechuri, politburo member Prakash Karat and former chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee among others.

Apart from Bhattacharya, who was elected mayor of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation, former party MP Ramchandra Dom has also been made a permanent invitee in the state secretariat.Other members are Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, Biman Bose, Surjya Kanta Mishra, Md Selim, Madan Ghosh, Shyamal Chakrabarty, Mridul Dey, Gautam Deb, Dipak Dasgupta, Nripen Chowdhury, Sridip Bhattacharya, Dipak Sarkar, Rabin Deb, Amiya Patra, Sujan Chakrabarty and Minati Ghosh.
