CPI(M) Promotes Adhir Chowdhury Over RSP Candidate

Berhampore: In a shameless bid to boss over its allies, CPI(M) is openly asking people to vote for Congress candidate and sitting MP Adhir Chowdhury from Berhampore, against RSP contender Id Mohammad.

The meetings between Left Front chairman Biman Bose and RSP state secretary Kshiti Goswami have failed as the former refused to accept the latter’s proposal that it would field a candidate in a seat which is RSP’s stronghold.

The Alimuddin Street bosses gave instructions to leaders in Berhampore to openly back Chowdhury. The poll alliance between CPI(M) and Congress did not work out as the former refused to withdraw its candidates from the Raiganj and Murshidabad seats, from where party nominees got elected in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

Mohammad Salim won from Raiganj by 1,634 votes, while Badaruddoza Khan was elected from Murshidabad by over 1,800 votes.
