CPI(M) fires at TMC workers from victory rally


Maldah: The political violence continues throughout the state even after 24 hours of the declaration of the results of the Civic polls. A TMC supporter was reportedly fired upon by from the victory rally of CPI(M) in Maldah. The incident occurred at Ghorapith of EnglishBazar area in the district. Allegations have been leveled against CPI(M) of firing at TMC worker Pintu Mondal.

TMC leader Kunal Singh was defeated by CPI(M)’s Dulal Nanda(Dolon) by a margin of three votes. After the win the CPI(M) conducted a victory rally in the area. At that time there was an altercation between Pintu Mondal and TMC supporters. Later he was fired. He was taken to Maldah Medical College in a critical condition and later shifted to Kolkata. Tension has spread in the area following the incident. Huge contingent of police force has been deployed in the area following the incident.
