CPI(M) candidate manhandled by TMC goons


Barackpore: A CPI(M) candidate was manhandled by miscreants when he went out to campaign for the upcoming Municipal elections. The CPI(M) has alleged the hand of TMC behind the incident.

The incident occurred on Wednesday evening when the candidate Pulakesh Ghosh went out for campaigning in Bagchipara area of Barackpore. A group of bike riders belonging to the Trinamool Congress surrounded them and held them captive.

The CPI(M) candidate also alleged that he was given life threat by the TMC goons. He said that the bikers fled the area when common people came out of their houses in protest and rescued them.

The local CPI(M) leaders rushed to the spot on learning about the incident. A complaint was filed by the CPI(M) candidate on Wednesday night at Titagarh police station.
