Kolhapur: CPI leader Govind Pansare, who was shot outside his home on Feb 16 along with his wife has passed away in the late hours of Friday night. He was reported to be in a critical condition. The Maharashtra police had launched a massive man hunt to nab the assassin.
As many as 20 teams have been formed under the direct supervision of Direct General of Police to get hold of the shooters. An officer of ACP rank has been given charge of the investigation.
Panasare although showed signs of recovering finally passed away on Friday night.According to the doctors, his wife wassaid to be out of danger.
The couple was hit by bike borne shooters while returning from a morning walk on Monday outside their home in Ideal housing society.
