Kolkata: West Medinipore Ghatal Subdivisional Court has reportedly issued arrest warrant against Bharati Ghosh.
According to CID sources, they have urged to the court for such action. Court has reverted back positively. Arrest warrants have issued with due concern of Central Investigation Department (CID). Another arrest warrant has been issued against Sujit Monal, the bodyguard of Bharati Ghosh during her tenure as Superintendent of Police in West Midnapore.
In a major development, Circle Inspector (CI) and Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ghatal police station were arrested in connection with the Daspur case, in which allegations of cheating after taking gold from local businessmen had cropped up. The two senior police officers were arrested on Friday in this connection, in which the allegations of involvement of the former IPS officer Bharati Ghosh has also cropped up. They will be produced before the court on Saturday.
The agency, meanwhile, has served a second notice at the residence of Ghosh’s husband MAV Raju, asking him to appear before CID officers Saturday. It had also summoned Raju to its headquarters on Tuesday, but he had cited a week’s time, citing his health condition. The matter came to light when last Thursday, the CID and police raided the premises of 12 police officers considered close to Ghosh as part of its probe. Officers claimed to have recovered Rs 60 lakh cash, 2 kg gold and several land and property deeds.
Biswajit Chakraborty, the owner of a flat at the Madurdaha building, on Wednesday had lodged a complaint at Anandapur police station alleging an almirah was kept in his flat on the request of Raju. In this connection, the police station has summoned Raju for questioning on Saturday.
