Bhubaneshwar: The Bhubaneshwar court is likely to state on Thursday that whether MP Tapas Paul would get bail or would give assent to the verdict given by the lower court.
The CBI had arrested popular Bengali film star and Trinamool Congress parliamentarian Tapas Paul for his alleged role in the Rose Valley ponzi scheme, which is charged with defrauding depositors to the tune of Rs 17,000 crore.
Since arrest, Tapas Paul has been in a private hospital undergoing treatment for being ill. His lawyers had appealed to the lower court for a bail due to his ill-health. But the judge had rejected such appeal. Post this, the verdict was challenged and taken to the higher court.
It is being said that the CBI is likely to defend the plea for the MPs bail.
