Cops prevent Roopa’s entry in Pingla

Pingla: A BJP team headed by Joyprakash Majumdar and Roopa Ganguly, travelling to Pingla was halted midway, at the Brahmanbar village by the police on Friday.

BJP leader Joyprakash Majumder alleged that the cops prevented them from meeting the people, who gathered at the spot to meet Roopa Ganguly. The BJP team was informed by the additional SP that sec-144 has been imposed in the area, and no gathering can be allowed, although when confronted the cops failed to produce any document ordering the imposition of sec-144.

Majumdar accused police of acting on the directions of Mamata Banerjee. On the other hand BJP workers staged a protest at Brahmanbar village after denied entry in Pingla. He further added BJP will again orgonise a meeting in the area after taking proper permission.

A blast shook Pingla, earlier the month killing 12 people at an illegal bomb making unit.
