Cooch Behar airport to start operation from Monday

Cooch Behar: A trial run was conducted on newly constructed Cooch Behar airport on Sunday, following which Pinnacle air lines will be operating flights from Monday onwards.

The authorities confirmed that flights will operate four days in a week from Kolkata to Cooch Behar via Andal and Bagdogra. The fare is expected to be around Rs. 6000.

Cooch Behar District Magistrate P. Ulganathan said that the airport will start functioning from Monday, and the Sunday trial run was successful.

The airport on the other hand is facing problem in handling large carriers due to a short runway measuring 1063 meters. The airport will currently handle 19 seater small aircraft and will gradually develop runway measuring 1200 meter to operate 40 seater aircrafts.
