Construction Workers Call For Indefinite Strike At Malda

Engliahbazaar: Atkeast 800 workers from the National Highway Construction Workers’ Group, called for an indefinite strike from their work to protest for not receiving their wages.

The workers have called for an indefinite strike under the leadership of Sunil Sarkar, head of the All India Contraction Federation Workers’ Union. They have the responsibility of working on the National Highways of Malda, Murshidabad and North Dinajpur. It has been alleged that the workers of the above mentioned union, which is under the HPC construction company, did not receive their wages past 3-4 months.

Atleast 800 workers on Saturday, staged a protest in front of the Malda’s Gajol College crossing and have warned of not resuming their work until and unless all the workers receive their wages.
