Kolkata: Despite getting permission from police, the Pradesh Youth Congress will hold a sit-in at Metro channel on Monday. It will be organised under the leadership of opposition leader Abdul Mannan. Youth Congress president said that they will move to court if they are stopped from holding the dharna.
The Youth Congress had a plan to hold dharna from February 11 to February 14 in demand for the return of the money laundered in several scams and the misuse of CBI. They sought permission from Lalbazaar on Saturday. It was sought by Pradesh Youth Congress president Sadaf Khan.
It was written in the application letter that chief minister Mamata Banerjee had hold a dharna at the same place few days ago. It was also mentioned in the letter that they will not use loud speakers keeping in mind the upcoming Madhyamik examinations. It was also said that they will not block roads. Despite all the assurances, the Lalbazar did not give permission.
Reacting strongly to the rejection, the Pradesh Youth Congress termed the Kolkata Police as two-faced.
