Congress’ Nirved Roy joins TMC


Kolkata: The speculation turned out to be true in the political sphere of West Bengal as Nirved Roy from Congress joined the TMC on Friday. Nirved Roy was greeted by the TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee at a political meeting held at satyanarayan park by the Trinamool Congress. Along with Mamata Banerjee, Mayor Shovan Chatterjee was also present at the dias. Nirved was welcomed in the party ahead of the KMC polls which is slated to be held on April 18.

A few weeks ago, Nirved Roy’s wife Mala Roy who was the elected councillor of Congress from ward no.88 had joined the TMC. She was even given the ticket from TMC from the same ward. It was thought at that time Nirved Roy would follow her wife in due course. Concretising all speculations, Nirved Roy finally came to TMC on Friday. It would surely be a blow to the Congress within the state as it is slowly fading away from the political map of West Bengal. However, citing TMC’s view, it would surely the joker card played by the leadership ahead of the KMC polls by incorporating or joining the Ace Congress man in Trinamool.
