Kolkata: After Modi wave breaks BJP’s southern barrier, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday tweets that Congress-JD(S) Alliance Would Have Shown Different Results.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has reached the magic majority mark as per latest Karnataka assembly election result 2018, wresting the southern citadel from the Congress, which is now in power only in Punjab and Puducherry.
The saffron party has sent its state in-charge Prakash Javadekar to Karnataka to oversee government formation and will hold a parliamentary board meeting in the evening.
In more heartbreak for the Congress, the incumbent Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is trailing in Chamundeshwari in hometown Mysuru against his main rival GT Deve Gowda of the JD(S). He is ahead in the Badami Assembly constituency in north Karnataka. BJP chief ministerial candidate BS Yeddyurappa is ahead in Shikaripura and JD(S) state president HD Kumaraswamy is leading in Ramanagara.
