Kolkata: Protesting against the murder of the student and rising cases of atrocities by the ruling Trinamool Congress in the state, West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee has called for a Bangla bandh on August 20. WBPCC President Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury declared this at a meeting in Siliguri in North Bengal.
A Press conference was called by Chowdhury in protest of TMC atrocities and the murder of students in the state. Speaking to the journalists, he said, “Protesting against the killing of Class 12 student Shabina Khatun and killing of the college student of Sabang we are calling for a strike on 20 August.”
He said that Congress will observe a 12 hour bandh throughout the state on August 20. He has called on the supporters and workers of the congress to make the Bandh successful. He even demanded a CBI probe into the killing to the Sabang student claiming that the state police or CID won’t conduct the investigation fairly.
