New Delhi: Congress MPs from both Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha have staged a protest at the Gandhi statue in the Parliament premises on Thursday, against the suspension of the party's 25 lawmakers from the Lok Sabha by Speaker Sumitra Mahajan. Meanwhile, Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Thursday criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA Government, saying not consulting the Chief Ministers of Assam, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh over the signing of peace accord shows the Centre's 'arrogance'.

"We are actually shocked. The Prime Minister did not even take Chief Ministers into confidence, Manipur Chief Minister, Assam Chief Minister and Arunachal Chief Minister, who are directly affected. Here is another show of arrogance of this government," Gandhi told mediapersons."It may be historic, but what about consulting the Chief Ministers of the states which are directly affected," she added.

The Monsoon Session of Parliament remained at a logjam with the opposition led by the Congress, demanding the resignation of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje who have been drawing flak over former IPL chief Lalit Modi controversy.
