Cong releases election Manifesto for Delhi polls


New Delhi: Congress has released the Poll Manifesto for the upcoming Delhi Assembly polls. the Manifesto was released by Chief Ministerial candidate Ajay Maken and Congress leader Arvinder Singh Lovely. A number of commitments have been declared by the party for the upcoming polls.

The main points which have been included in the manifesto are:-

Professional evening colleges would be set up in Government school buildings after the completion of day shift.

20 new colleges would be opened under Ambedkar University. 150 schools would be opened in every five years which will run in two shifts.

 Judo and Yoga would be introduced in schools.

Skill training centre at Jaunapur.

Pension amount to all deserving categories would be enhanced to Rs 2000 per month including widows and handicapped.

24 hour free diagnostic centers with CT scan, MRI and ultrasound facilities.

Special ambulances for senior citizens.

Three new medical colleges to be set up.

All children studying in government and government aided schools to be covered under the Chacha Nehru Sehat Yojna scheme.

25000 flats would be allotted under the EWS category to the poor.

All public transport would be monitored with CCTV cameras.

All public transport would be Wi-fi enabled.

Regularization of unauthorized colonies.

Norms on restriction of registration of properties would be relaxed in unauthorized colonies.

Toilet for women in Market places.

Better policing setup and installation of CCTV cameras in public transport to ensure the safety and security of women.

EW quotas to be extended for higher education for Girl students. Extension of the Ladli scheme for college going girls.

Construction of exclusive hostels for visually challenged college going girls.

Enhanced scholarship for disabled students.

Induction of more power distribution companies in Delhi.

Those who consume power upto 0-200 units would be charged Rs 1.50 per unit while those who consume power above that would be given 50 percent discount.

To turn Delhi into energy surplus city with no shortage of power supply.

Commissioning of three new water treatment plans at Dwarka, Bawana and Okhla.

18 additional water storage reservoirs to be commissioned.

Conservation of water, rain water harvesting and proper management of ground water through a ground water regulation bill.

Full statehood for Delhi.

Full proof system would be implemented to curb corruption from Government departments.

The corrupt would be booked and punished as the Congress Government would not brook corruption in any manner.

Congress which has been reeling under corruption issues, doesn’t have a immediate chance to winning the elections. The AAP and BJP are considered to be the main warriors in the fight for the control of the national capital. The effect that congress will leave in the upcoming polls is now a matter of question.
