Cong Buys More Time On Alliance

Kolkata: A fifteen member Congress delegation including State Pradesh Congress President Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury failed to open the deadlock of alliance with CPM in upcoming polls in Bengal. Although, Rahul Gandhi gave them a patient hearing, the delegation could not convince him enough to go whole hog against TMC, that can create troubles for the party in national politics.
Congress high command is mulling the option very seriously, and they want to buy more time before taking the final decision. Adhir said, “Rahul has given us a hearing, he heard all our grievances on the matter. He pledged us support telling our inputs will be taken care of before reaching any decision.”
Political Pundits say that there are still many hurdles before this pact can see the light of the day. Congress and CPM, both, are political rivals for long; whereas there is little difference between TMC and Congress’ principle. Sonia-Rahul know that if they make an alliance with CPM, TMC can become the beneficiary in the long run. So, they are thinking twice before making an alliance with CPM. Here, Adhir has told reporters that there is no way of going together with TMC at any cost.
