Cong, BJP in close race in Rajasthan Civic polls


Jaipur: Congress and the BJP seem to be in a close race with each other in the Rajasthan civic body polls. The ruling Party BJP has already own 891 of the 2, 134 wards while congress has bagged 770 wards.

According to the Election Commission, results of the 2,134 of the total 3,351 wards have been announced so far and the counting is still going.

Independent candidates have won 456 wards while BSP, CPI and CPI(M) got 12, four and one seats respectively.

Nearly 76.19 percent votes were casted during the polls for election of the 129 civic bodies on August 17, the results of which are being declared on Thursday.
