Kolkata: As the strike by Left trade unions stepped into its second day, the roads could see people normally coming out of their houses to go to their offices. The strike supporters tried to block as some railway stations due to which train services were temporarily disrupted.

The area at Sealdah witnessed noticeably huge crowd. It proves that the common people does not support bandh in any way.

A train passenger told kolkata24x7 that, “No solution was ever attained by resorting to strikes. Today due to this strike I reached (my destination) 1.5 hours late. Our train was stopped by bandh supporters at Simurali in Nadia district. But those of us who work in private organisations, will have to come to office.”

On the other hand, the situation at BBD Bag was just like any other day. This area is also called ‘office para’. The people here said that they have never supported strike by any party because it poses problem to the common people, as claimed by the commuters.

The Dharmatala bus depot also had the same picture as of before.
