Kolkata: The Election Commission has decided to be stricter in the upcoming third round of the Assembly Polls scheduled on April 21 2016 (Thursday). The decision was taken after taking a note of the political scenario, during the polls, on both the days, in its first round of the Assembly Polls.
As part of its stringent measures, the commission has decided to not allow any state police inside the polling booths in South Dinajpur. They would be given the responsibility of being aware of any problems which might occur in the queues of voters outside the booths. After a meeting between the State Police and the Army Personnel, the decision was taken to allow the Central forces, only, inside the booths. The Commission has appointed Rashid Munir Khan as the super of the State Police.
