Haldia: Cyclone Fani, which has transformed into ‘extremely severe cyclonic storm’ was located around 610 km south-southwest of Digha at about 8.30 pm on Thursday. Coast Guard are maintaining a vigil in the coastal region for Disaster relief work.
So the Bengal government has already issued the warning in the adjacent areas of costal region like Tajpur, Mandarmani, Shankarpur, Kejuri areas along with Digha. It has already been told to evacuate the coastal areas. Everyone has been told to stay at a safe distance from the sea. Even the prohibition has been imposed in sea baths and fishing. The administration has already taken adequate precautions to save the coastal people from the strikes.
On the other hand, the tourists have been instructed to return from the coastal area. Partha Ghosh, district magistrate of East Midnapore, said the administration was prepared to face the disaster. He Said, “We are maintaining a vigil in all areas. The weather is also being monitored. ” District Administration said that the control room has been opened in five blocks of Kanthi area.
There is a possibility of a storm of 100-120 kmph in the area of Digha and adjacent areas. The ocean is likely to be overwhelming. It will be strike on May 4 and 5. From the morning onwards, police and the administration workers are extremely busy to aware people to keep distance from sea. Somnath Chakraborty of Howrah and his family also left Digha for the same reason at Friday. Most of the tourists have left Digha on Thursday.
Digha-Shankarpur Hotels Association Association secretary Bipradas Chakraborty said that tourists are going back and canceling the book to avoid trouble.
