Coast Guard Ship Rescues 6 From Capsized Boat Off Paradip Coast


Paradip: Indian Coast Guard ship Rajkiran saved six lives from mid sea on Monday. The ship was deployed for routine patrol view inclement weather to assist distressed mariners.

ICGS Rajkiran braved the sea state  to rescue these lives. At about 1430 Hrs, the ship sighted a partially sunken boat  at a distance of 9 Nautical miles from Paradip Light house.

The six survivors were seen clinging to the sinking boat. ICGS Rajkiran came to immediate rescue.One of the crew is missing as intimated by the survivors.

Preliminary investigations reveal that the boat belongs to Odhisa. ICGS Rajkiran will further patrol the area in search of the missing crew and hand over the survivors to Paradip, said IG KS Sheoran, the Coast Guard Regional Commander(NE).
