Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has ordered ban on entry of media inside Vidhan Soudha. The movement of journalists and media personnel will be restricted inside the state assembly building on a day to day basis.
According to national media, the office of the CM has asked the DG office to make separate enclosures for media outside the assembly building. The enclosures will prevent access of journalists inside the state assembly, and, instead allow the ministers and other officials of the Secretariat to address the media, whenever they intend to.
This is the first time that such a move has been initiated in Karnataka state assembly. The move is likely to have been prompted by negative news reports against Chief Minister Kumaraswamy in the recent past.
Earlier, Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy won a floor test in the assembly on Friday after a walkout by the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP).
The confidence motion was passed in favour of the three day-old government, a post-election coalition between the Congress and the Janata Dal Secular, by a voice vote.
