Kolkata: To make way for smooth traffic in the city and to look in the grievances of the passengers, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be meeting Taxi and Auto rickshaw drivers at Nazrul Mancha in the city. Issues regarding the refusal by taxi drivers to carry passengers and the rough nature of the auto drivers will be discussed in the meeting.
The drivers will also tell the Chief Minister about their problems. The auto and taxi drivers were invited by letter from the state transport department. The drivers seem to be very impressed with the hospitality of the CM.
Bimal Guha, the General Secretary of Bengal Taxi Association has said that they welcome the initiative taken by the Chief Minister. He said, “She has said that she will be listening to our problems. We are hopeful. Our problems will be solved in the CM intervenes.”
Same tunes were heard from Gopal Suta, General Secretary of South Kolkata Auto Union. He said, “We were sent invitation letter. The CM will meet the auto drivers and hear about their problem.”
