CM Mamata To Hold Emergency Meeting Over Dengue Crisis

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has instructed to conduct an emergency meeting at Nabanna on Tuesday to discuss about the spread of dengue disease.

Mamata Banerjee has instructed the presence of top officials from the Kolkata Municipal Corporation and the Bidhannagar Corporation. Health officials are also scheduled to take part in the emergency meeting. Mamata Banerjee is like to give directions as to how to proceed to prevent the spread of dengue.

Mayor Sovan Chatterjee said that not a single dengue case have been reported yet. He also said that the state government is making all efforts to curb the spread of dengue. He also announced that a camp would begin with the help of the corporation.

Cases of Dengue were reported since Sunday evening. An 8 year old boy from Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan died on Sunday from dengue. On Monday another girl from the same school died on Monday. 7 more students have been reported to be affected by dengue. As a result, the parents and guardians staged a protest outside the school gates. The school has declared a 7 days holiday for the primary section.
