Kolkata: The West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on the 71st Independence Day greeted the people.

On her social media she shared her message for the Indian Army as well for all the country men.

“Salute to the Nation and best wishes to all my brothers and sisters on the eve of Independence Day.” Banerjee posted on her Twitter.

“Like every year, I will participate in the ‘Freedom at Midnight’ ceremony.Homage to all those who gave their lives for our country. Jai Hind”, She added.

Earlier after the criticism on Centre for asking schools in all states to celebrate the Independence Day following the guidelines set by the human resource development ministry, Banerjee announced that the state government never imposed restrictions on the event.

“Some BJP-cornered media misrepresenting facts. Don’t mislead. In Bengal each one has the full freedom to celebrate 70 years of our freedom. All schools in Bengal are celebrating Independence Day as per their choice. In their own special way,” Banerjee tweeted.
