CM Mamata Condoles Death Of Somnath Chatterjee


Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee condoled the death of former Lok Sabha speaker Somnath Chatterjee.

“Saddened at the passing away of former Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath (Da) Chatterjee. My condolences to his family and admirers. This is a great loss for us all.”

In a shocking news, former Lok Sabha speaker Somnath Chatterjee passed away on Monday morning in Kolkata at the age of 89. He was admitted to the Belle Vue on August 8 due to kidney ailment. He was put on ventilator support after he suffered a heart attack. He turned critical on Sunday morning.

“In such cases it happens at times that the heart stops giving support. Chatterjee suffered a mild heart attack this morning, but was revived. He is in the ICU and is responding to treatment,” a news agency quoted a doctor.
