Mamata Banerjee Holds Administrative Meeting At Jhargram

Jhargram: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee held her first district-level administrative meeting in the 2nd term at Jhargram in West Medinipore on Tuesday.

After returning to power for the second term, the first administrative review meeting of the government led by Mamata Banerjee at block-level took place today. The status of ongoing projects and future action plans and also about the Paschim Medinipur district was discussed in the meeting. The meeting was held at the Jhargram police super’s office. Senior officials of the state government including Chief Secretary and Home Secretary were in the meeting.

In the meeting, Mamata Banerjee said that there is a requirement of an administrative calendar in the block-level too. She assured that they would target to complete their work within the speculated time. She also said that there would be a proper balance between the block and the state.

Mamata Banerjee said that the work would be done within 100 days and the Bengal model would be followed. She again assured that there must be regularity in relation to their work. Every month, there would be an evaluation of the work done by the district magistrate.

Mamata Banerjee also said that ‘Khadya Sathi’ project is our fundamental right. She spoke harshly against the ration dealers. She said that the corruption committed by the ration dealers would not be tolerated. The government had already cancelled 1 crore and 41 lakhs ration cards. It was seen that a person received 2 ration cards. Such corruptions would not be tolerated was what the chief minister clearly said. She also announced that digital cards might be launched to remove such malpractices. Mamata Banerjee also expressed concern about the deaths of elephants recently. She expressed dissatisfaction with the forest department and its officials for the death of so many elephants.
