Kolkata: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee claimed Bengal to be the largest industry-friendly city in a programme on Tuesday where she was felicitated by industrialists.
Mamata Banerjee, in the felicitation programme, reminded all that ‘bandhs’ or strikes are an uncommon phenomenon in West Bengal. Thus, no working day is wasted and so she said that all were happy. She said that their victory is the victory of one’s wish.
Mamata Banerjee said that a few problems might be present. But if they are considered and removed, then Bengal could be termed as the largest industry-friendly city. Mamata Banerjee also said that the industrialists are afraid to do business in several parts of the country because ED and CBI seem to be following their every action and keeping them under surveillance.
Mamata Banerjee also praised the central government on the GST issue as she said that GST is the right decision. The chief minister stated that though the Bengal government criticizes the central government on several issues, yet it never forgets to praise them when they take the right decisions.
The industrial organizations that felicitated Mamata Banerjee were FICCI, CII, Bengal Chambers of Commerce, Bengal National Chambers Of Commerce and industry, Oriental Chamber of Commerce, MCC Chamber of Commerce, Bharat Chamber of Commerce, Indian Chamber of Commerce, Calcutta Chamber of Commerce.
