CM Mamata Banerjee Holds First Public Meeting At Narayangarh


Narayangarh, West Medinipore: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee held her first public meeting, as promised, in Narayangarh on Monday assuring several projects to the residents of Narayangarh.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to lay foundation stones for 14 projects and is scheduled to inaugurate 32 projects. Mamata began her speech at the rally by thanking all the “Ma, Mati, Manush” of Bengal for TMC’s landmark victory. She said, “I had promised that my first district visit after winning would be at Narayangarh. We are grateful to you. We are thankful to you for all the blessings, cooperation and support.”

Mamata Banerjee also thanked the Bengal people of answering against all the smear campaign and conspiracies which have been defeated. She gives all the credit to the Ma Mati Manush. Mamata Banerjee said that despite the huge debt burden, the amount of work they have done in 5 years is unprecedented. She said that this is a victory of development, a victory of good governance.

Mamata Banerjee said that from the meeting on Monday, they have distributed various government services to 16000 people. She said that 95% people in West Midnapore district have received direct government services in the last 5 years.

Mamata Banerjee said that 6 multi super speciality hospitals and 11 Kisan Bazaars have already been set up in the West Midnapore district. She announced that schemes like Kanyashree, Khadya Sathi and Sabuj Sathi will continue and the surge of development will not stop. She also announced that 1 multi super speciality hospital would be set up in Narayangarh.

Mamata Banerjee added that, “We have written to the Centre to maintain Kerosene supply to Bengal. We have removed many fake ration cards. We have submitted Ghatal Master Plan for flood prevention to the Centre. Chief Minister also announced the setting up of a new district at Jhargram soon. She assured that although the Centre had stopped giving them funds, the government is to carry on the development of Jangalmahal.

Mamata Banerjee focuses on work to prosper development. She said, “When you perform for people no conspiracies can defeat you. We have to keep working for people. We have to make Bengal the best in the world.” She also informed that the infrastructure at government hospitals has improved in the last 5 years. She assures of fulfilling all the promises her government had made.

Mamata Banerjee said that the project of providing rice to people at Rs. 2 per kg has already profited 7 crore people. A total of 41 multi super speciality hospitals are to be set up in West Bengal. Mamata Banerjee as a gift to Narayangarh has promised to set up a 300 bedded multi-super hospital within 2 years. She has also promised to set up a new college at Narayangarh.

Mamata Banerjee concluded by saying that working is their addiction and profession. The more work they do, that would help them to proceed with new works in the long-run. Work is the biggest parameter for working itself. Work is their religion. Hence work is their target. She added that the target of the state government is to make West Bengal famous worldwide.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had promised during her election campaign at Narayangarh in March that she would hold her first public meeting at Narayangarh if they would defeat Surya Kanta Mishra, the then Left candidate and also the then leader of the opposition. Narayangarh witnessed the historic victory of TMC candidate Prodyut Kumar Ghosh after 38 years as Narayangarh had been under the control of the Left regime for so long. Prodyut Kumar Ghosh won by a margin of 19,589 votes.
