CM inaugurates first governmental Woman’s college after independence


Kolkata: After completing her 100th meeting at Burdwan, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has inaugurated a number of projects in the city. The Chief Minister has claimed that this will be the first General Degree College in the state after Independence. The new college has been named as Sister Nivedita College.

On Thursday Banerjee also said that the state government is determined to build 13 more Universities and 45 new Degree Colleges in the state. She claimed that over the last few years many educational institute has been granted permission by the state government.

She also inaugurated the P.R. Thakur governmental College from Hastings House. New Vice Chancellor of Calcutta University Sugoto Marjit, Presidency Vice Chancellor Anuradha Lohia was also present at the event.
