CM inaugurates the Industrial Trade fair at Asansol


Asansol: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday inaugurated the Industrial trade fair at Asansol in Burdwan district. She thanked the Asansol Chamber of Commerce’s decision to involve common people in the Trade fair.

The CM said that everybody should be involved in good works.  The Asansol-Durgapur, Bardhaman, Bankura, Purulia Zone were termed as important zones by the CM and she said that core committee meetings will be held every year separately for the industrial zones.

She also claimed that the Panchami Coal reserves and steel industry in Durgapur will create huge employment opportunities and Andal airportwill increase connectivity in the industrial area.

Taking up the issue of setting up new industries Banerjee said that that, PPP policies and permissions are easily available to set up industries in the state. She also claimed that west Bengal is strong in Manufacturing, Enginnering, small scale, Textile and cottage industries.

The CM also announced that 40,000 cr will be invested in the Durgapur Steel plant expansion and there are plans to start a 3200 cr road project as well as a 1500 MW power Project which will give employment to 16000 people.

On Wednesday, the CM had inaugurated the Mati Utsav emphasizing on agriculture and today she emphasizes on industrialization and employment. Now, what impact the Industrial Trade fair and the Mati Utsav plays on the common mass is a matter of time.
