Clashes, Bombings & Firing Reported From Malda


Malda: As the day proceeded, chaos was reported from several areas while the phase 3 of the Lok Sabha polls are underway on Tuesday. Major bombings were reported from North Malda’s Chachol Vidhan Sabha constituency’s 216 number booth in primary school.

It is also being alleged that firing was also done in this same incident. The outsider miscreants have been held reponsible for this. Both the BJP and TMC have accused them against each other. A huge police force have rushed to the area.

Central forces have been deployed too. Though the situation was normalised later, but an active bomb was recovered by the police.

The locals are panic-stricken after the incident. The vote officials and voters are scared. The scared voters are not coming to the booths to cast their votes. The election commission officials have tried explaining to the scared voters. The central forces have conducted route march to increase the trust.

On the other hand, the TMC men have been accused of trying to influence voters in 173 number booth at Kaligram Girls High School under the North Malda Chachol constituency. A BJP cadre Sagar Roy was trying to take a picture of this but was allegedly stopped and beaten. He was heavily injured in his head. He has been rushed to the Chachol sub-divisional hospital.

Clashes also broke out between BJP-TMC at booth 155 and 156 of Samsir Motiganj which is in Ratua Vidhan Sabha under North Malda. TMC accused of vandalising BJP party office, Ratua police and central forces have rushed to the area.
