Clampdown On Television Broadcasting In Darjeeling

Darjeeling: In an attempt to ease the violence in Darjeeling, the district authority has closed down the broadcast of television channels on Friday.

As per sources, the broadcast of all the local television and FM channels have been closed down by the authorities. Criticisms have started with the government’s attempt to stop the media from spreading the message.

All the channels have been clamped down. But the broadcast of the channels in the lower areas have not been closed down as per the Darjeeling Chronicle. Protests have even emerged for this decision.
