‘Citylights’ to be screened at NY Indian Film Festival


Mumbai: The song ‘O rey lammha’ from Citylight never failed to leave a mark at the music lovers’ heart. The film too now seems to have stride in the international arena.

National award-winning director Hansal Mehta’s movie ‘Citylights’ that depicts a heart wracking tale of a couple who migrates to Mumbai from a small town to fulfill their dreams will be screened at New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF). The 15th NY Film Festival will be held between 4 to 9 May. However, the screening dates are yet to be revealed.

The accomplished filmmaker commented, ‘Overwhelmed that Citylight to screen at NYIFF. It is an exquisite feeling. ‘Citylight’ which is an adaptation of British film ‘Metro Manila’ depicts the story of a man hailed from Rajasthan with his family. He soon discovers the utmost complex life of the city and finds himself living in the streets somehow. The song ‘O rey lammha’ gained a lot of appreciation and became the trade mark of the movie.
