Kolkata: Security has been beefed up in the Dumdum Airport, Sealdah and Howrah Stations and the other gateways to the city. The number of security has been increased and a huge number of personnel have been deployed to avoid any unwanted situation. The bags and baggage of each and every person is being checked thoroughly. Armed police have been stationed at all the rail gates and entries. The cars and vehicles are also being searched and checked by the police at regular intervals.
On the other hand, a high alert has been sounded in the national capital by the Delhi police with security being beefed up at busy public places and markets in the wake of the terror attack in Punjab. “We have briefed our officers and men to be vigilant and watchful in the wake of Punjab incident and an alert is being maintained,” PRO of Delhi Police Rajan Bhagat said.
