City to choke on April 8 as Mamata will hold rally against Land Bill


Kolkata: In protest against the Land Acquisition Bill, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee is going to take the streets on April 8. According to sources, Mamata Banerjee will herself walk in a protest rally along with the various other TMC leaders and other block presidents of TMC. TMC’s protest against the Land Bill is not new. But the city has not seen the CM herself protesting on any issue and walking in a rally for long.

The protesters in the rally are said to wear black badges to mark their protest. The rally will start from Moulali at 4 pm and continue to the Gandhi statue at Mayo Road. The TMC supremo has even asked the TMC leaders to carry out a rally at different parts of West Bengal to mark off the protest.

The political scenario of West Bengal feels that ahead of the municipal elections, This protest of Mamata is sure to strike of the bitter chord between TMC and BJP all over again. It will also solidify the Centre-state rift ahead of the municipal polls.
