Citing violence, Biman Basu moves to the SEC


Kolkata: On the day of the Bengal civic polls, the Left Front Chairman, Biman Basu has raised his arguments in connection to he ongoing violence which the areas of Katwa, Sonamukhi and other parts of Hoogly Dumdum, and Titagarh. Basu has said that the goons have already captured the booths of these areas. Hence, the voting is not being done in a free and fair basis in these areas. He has even said that the election commission is playing a passive role to curb out violence from these areas. Inspite of the presence of the Central Forces, people are carrying out violence in these areas.  Citing these problems, Biman Basu has approached the election commission trying to make them aware of the ongoing violence within the state, added the sources.
